Gabrielle J. Canaie
EMPLOYMENT
Senior Associate
Gabrielle J. Canaie is a Senior Associate in Olender Feldman's Employment Practices, Litigation and Career Advisory Services Group, where she advises employers and senior executives on a broad spectrum of workplace issues. She focuses on pragmatic, solution-oriented approaches—breaking down complex legal issues into clear, actionable advice that reflects both the legal landscape and her clients' real-world business needs. Gabrielle understands that every legal issue carries real stakes, and she brings that awareness to every matter she handles.
Gabrielle's practice includes counseling clients on employee discipline, workplace investigations, performance management, and compliance with federal and state employment laws, including the FMLA, ADA, wage and hour regulations, and anti-discrimination statutes. She drafts and negotiates employment and separation agreements, restrictive covenants, and employee handbooks, and provides strategic guidance on matters such as hiring, termination, and employee classification.
Prior to joining OlenderFeldman, Gabrielle practiced at several New Jersey law firms, where she supported both public and private sector clients in employment litigation and counseling matters.
Gabrielle has been recognized as a Rising Star by New Jersey Super Lawyers® in 2025 and 2026 and is a frequent speaker on topics including litigation, diversity, equity, and inclusion.
An engaged member of the legal community, Gabrielle serves as a Director of the Asian Pacific American Lawyers Association of New Jersey (APALA-NJ) and is a member of the New Jersey State Bar Association's Young Lawyers Division. She is also an active member of the Hispanic Bar Association of New Jersey, the South Asian Bar Association of New Jersey, and the Essex County Bar Association. Gabrielle is committed to fostering a legal community where mentorship, encouragement, and meaningful connections are not the exception, but the norm.
