TEDXPrinceton Privacy Notice

TEDxPrinceton is an independently organized TEDx event operated under license from TED Conferences, LLC (“TED”). TEDxPrinceton is not a legal entity; it is a volunteer-led initiative. References to “we,” “our,” or “us” in this notice refer to the TEDxPrinceton organizing team acting in that capacity.

1.⁠ ⁠What We Collect
Depending on how you interact with us (as a speaker applicant, attendee, sponsor, partner, volunteer, or other participant), we may collect:
   •   Name, contact information, and professional details.
   •   Application or registration content, including talk proposals, biographies, images, and media links.
   •   Volunteer or sponsorship details.
   •   Payment information for sponsorships or ticketing (processed securely by third-party payment processors; we do not store payment card details).
   •   Technical information from online submissions, such as IP address, browser type, and time of submission.

2.⁠ ⁠How We Use Your Information
We use personal information to:
   •   Manage participation in TEDxPrinceton, including reviewing speaker applications, coordinating volunteers, and fulfilling sponsorship arrangements.
   •   Communicate with you about the event.
   •   Fulfil TEDx licensing and compliance obligations.
   •   Promote the event (for example, by publishing selected participant names, biographies, images, and talk titles/descriptions in programs, on our website, and in promotional materials).
   •   Maintain event records and respond to legal or regulatory requests if required.

3.⁠ ⁠Sharing Your Information
We may share your personal information with:
   •   TED Conferences, LLC to comply with TEDx license requirements.
   •   Service providers who assist with event delivery, specifically:
      •   Wix.com Ltd. (our website host and form processor)
      •   Microsoft Corporation (email, document storage, and collaboration tools)
These providers are contractually required to safeguard personal information.
   •   Authorities if required by law.

We do not sell or rent personal information.

4.⁠ ⁠Storage Location and International Transfers
All personal information collected through TEDxPrinceton will be stored in the United States. Where participants are located outside the United States, this constitutes an international data transfer. Data protection laws in the United States may not offer the same level of protection as in your home country. By submitting your information, you acknowledge and agree to this transfer and storage.

We retain your personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes described above and in accordance with TEDx requirements.
